Clarinet Lessons at NovaMusic Studio

All clarinet lessons,  beginner or advanced, must begin with producing a beautiful sound. While all clarinet lessons are tailored to the needs of the individual student, tone production is where it all begins.  After that, Christiaan helps students delve into the various subtleties and wonders of playing the clarinet. Through technique exercises, improvising, learning repertoire, duets, and composing, clarinet students learn to appreciate the joys of music and the clarinet.  To learn more about his philosophy, please visit the music teaching philosophy page.

The clarinet is one of the most beautiful sounding instruments in the woodwind family. Its warm and lyrical tone has attracted many listeners, performers, and composers. On the other hand, clarinet has a fun side, as exemplified by jazz greats such as Benny Goodman and Woody Hermann.  The modern clarinet is a mainstay in school bands, orchestras, chamber music,  jazz, Klezmer music, and more.
